Our Love Story

Ed and Kiyome were colleagues and soon after close friends well before they actually started dating. They share a love of making video games and from the beginning have always worked hard to help each other succeed. This created an atmosphere between them of teamwork, understanding, and care.

While they're not working hard, they love to laugh at their own silliness and go on adventures together. You'll often find them on hikes, visiting museums, or just taking a relaxing drive somewhere new. On the big occasions, they love filling their home with the warmth of friends and family.

A wedding is a public expression of the boundless and eternal love we share

We ask our friends and family to join us in wishing for long, happy lives together

How it all began?

  • The First Time We Met

    April 2007

Kiyome was looking for a game team and ventured onto the DigiPen Live Journal in search of one. Ed was on a team who was always interested in working with artists. They had a meeting that kicked off their professional relationship.

  • Our First Date

    December 2010

After expressing their feelings for each other in their own unique ways, they had the problem of 3000 miles separating them. Once Ed moved to California for a job, he was able to visit Kiyome when they had their first official date. They saw Disney's Tangled in theater, followed by sushi dinner at a Japanese restaurant called Kokoro.

  • Moving In Together

    July 2011

Knowing they wanted to be together, and feeling like San Francisco would have more opportunities for Kiyome than Irvine, she moved to Berkeley to live with Ed and his roommate Alex. A year later, Ed's work at Naughty Dog took them both back down to Los Angeles where they have been since December 2012.

  • The Engagement

    December 2016

They had just spent 6 months apart while Kiyome was working in Champaigne, Illinois. When her contract was over, Ed flew to Illinois to see where she'd lived. While on a short, very cold trip to Chicago, Ed wanted to see Buckingham Fountain again which they'd seen in the Fall. Kneeling in the snow, with beautiful Lake Michigan in the background, Ed revealed a necklace representing each of them joined together. After a brief moment of surprise over the necklace, Kiyome said yes!

Air BnB

We're putting Air BnB on here because we think it's a great idea for anyone who doesn't want to stay in the block at the Marriott. There aren't actually that many hotels in Malibu, so if you want to stay on the beach, there's a lot of apartments and houses right on the beach and rent rooms. Locations to search for are Malibu, Santa Monica, and West Los Angeles.
